Carburetion 

   This will be a very long section as it covers many topics.   I will break it up into each section after a brief overall description.  The basic design of the carburetor is to create a fuel/air mixture that will ignite inside the combustion chamber.  Quite simple but also extremely complex once you completely understand all the different components of the carburetor and beyond.  Once the fuel/air mixture leaves the carb there is a huge amount of things that affect the outcome of performance. This is where it gets very complex. That being said I will start with a breakdown of a standard Mikuni carb:
